A dear friend of mine sent this to me today and I thought it fitting to post! I hope everyone has a wonderful 2009!

START OVER

When you've trusted Jesus and walked his way
When you've felt his hand lead you day by day
But your steps now take you another way,
START OVER

When you've made your plans and they've gone awry
When you've tried your best and there's no more try
When you've failed yourself and you don't know why,
START OVER

When you've told your friends what you plan to do
When you've trusted them and they didn't come through
And now you're all alone and it's up to you,
START OVER

When you've failed your kids and they're grown and gone
When you've done your best but it's turned out wrong
And now your grandchildren have come along,
START OVER

When you've prayed to God so you'll know his will
When you've prayed and prayed and you don't know still
When you want to stop cause you've had your fill,
START OVER

When you think you're finished and want to quit
When you've bottomed out in life's deepest pit
When you've tried and tried to get out of it,
START OVER

When the year has been long and successes few
When December comes and you're feeling blue
God gives a January just for you,
START OVER

Starting over means "Victories Won"
Starting over means "A Race Well Run"
Starting over means "The Lords' Will Done"
Don't just sit there.......

And Braden Arrives!

Due to the "storm of the century"(according to Heath) we were not able to spend Christmas day with Braden. The roads were closed and travel would have been absolutely CRAZY and so Braden finally arrived on the day after Christmas! HOORAY!
Kenidee was so excited! She had to escort him to the living room to see what Santa had brought him, too!

Uncle Kevin and Aunt Suzie "drew" our names for Christmas this year and what a wonderful gift of family time they gave us! Thank you! I have never been a big Sorry! fan but Sorry! Sliders is fun! Even Kenidee played it but it was hard to get her to follow the rules. I think it was even harder for Braden to just ignore her and let her make up her own rules!

Cookies and milk for Santa?!

As Kenidee gets older Christmas traditions start to come into play. It is fun to have something to look forward to and this is the one thing that she definitely looked forward to! All she could talk about was making cookies for Santa!

Kenidee did get really impatient waiting for the cookies to come out of the oven. I could not get her to get down off the counter while we waited for the cookies to cook. She decided that she would lay down to wait. No, she didn't go to sleep. She was just pretending but I thought it appropriate to include the waiting picture too.

She was so proud of the cookies! It's a good thing that the reindeer don't get upset if you forget them! Santa made it to our house safe and sound even through the big storm!
"Santa ate all the cookies!"

It's a good thing we made Santa cookies to thank him for bringing me "the doll I've always wanted! The one that looks just like me!"

"Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!"

Living in Idaho means snow and we have definitely gotten snow this last week! Living on the side of the mountain where we do it's hard to tell just how much snow we have gotten this winter because sometimes the wind blows more than it snows. On Christmas day we got what Heath likes to jokingly refer to as the "50 year storm." The interstate was closed between Pocatello and Twin Falls so we didn't even get to go get Braden until the day after Christmas! What a bummer! Here are just a few pictures from our back deck. Because our deck is on the second floor of the house it has to be shoveled. Check out the amount of snow before the job was started!

Of course a job this big means snow clothes for everyone!
In some places it was at least 24 inches deep!
This measured about 10 inches just to get out the door!
"Daddy, this is deep!"
I don't think Kenidee thought it was as deep as it was! It went up to her hips!
Why do they always dive in head first? She had so much fun helping her dad!

She got her work out for the day!
What a great dad! He built Kenidee her very own snow hill right on the deck!

And then he had to help her sled down the hill.

They had so much fun!
Kenidee then decided that the snow hill was the perfect place to watch Dad work!
"Anyone for a winter picnic?"
The storm on Christmas day.
Heath said that there was so much blowing and snowing that he had to move a 5 foot snow drift out of the drive before I could go to town. I didn't look but I took his word for it. When he finally decided to do some snow removal it took him 45 minutes with the skid loader! That's a lot of snow in our driveway! Needless to say, it's a good thing I'm on Christmas break. I love being able to just sit in my living room bundled up next to the fire watching it snow! Idaho is a wonderful place!

My "Little" Builder

Here are a few pictures of Heath at the Southeast Idaho Builders Association Christmas party. He is such a cutie in his apron and goggles!
He's the builder with his hat on backwards. I was so proud of him! He did such a great job building his gingerbread house! It's a good thing it was made out of wood and not real gingerbread!

There were no tears or anything! He was such a trooper!

Christmas Love!

Grace Lutheran Early Childhood Center does a wonderful Christmas program every year and this year Kenidee got to be a part of the festivities! The storyline came from an e-mail that goes something like this....

The "W" in Christmas

Each December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience. I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending. Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas.

My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six year old. For weeks, he'd been memorizing songs for his school's "Winter Pageant." I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there would be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation. All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then. Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise. So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song. Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as "Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer. So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken aback by its bold title. Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snow caps upon their heads. Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song. As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C. Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love."

The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W". The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W". Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together. A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen. In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:
"C H R I S T W A S L O V E" And, I believe, He still is. Amazed in His presence....humbled by His love.

Kenidee LOVES getting dressed up! Heath and I are in BIG trouble!

Our little social butterfly! She is friends with everyone!

She loves to pose for pictures!

Kenidee and Colton, my brother's son. They are best friends and I am so happy that they get to go to school together!

Kenidee knew exactly where I was sitting with the camera and couldn't resist playing "Peek-a-Boo" with me! What a stinker!

Singing is one of Kenidee's favorite things to do!

"S is for Storybooks!"

"E is for Everything!"

Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for the gift of His son Jesus Christ and we are so fortunate that we are able to celebrate that gift loud and clear this year! I really do love that God is a part of my family's everyday life and we are able to celebrate His gifts on a daily basis! If I could give one gift to the world it would be to openly celebrate Jesus Christ our Savior daily without having to worry about who is listening! What a wonderful thing it is to share His love on a daily basis!

Happy Halloween!

I purchased this costume for Kenidee last year but when I got it I realized it was way too big so we had to make a quick change and Trick-or-Treat as Tinker Bell. I put the costume up for a year and convinced her that Jesse would be a great costume for Halloween this year! Isn't she cute?!?! All she needs is her sidekick Woody!

Getting ready in Mom's classroom!

Trick-or-Treating is hard work!

I can't resist this picture of my very own "Roadside Bum!" Thank goodness we haven't had to resort to this yet!

SNOW in October!

I couldn't resist posting these even though we have much more snow now! This particular storm came through on October 12 and the snow didn't last long but Kenidee still HAD to go play in it! It's a good thing, because we didn't get our next storm until late in December!

I couldn't resist kissing the ANGEL that made the Snow Angel!

TIME FLIES!

I can't believe that it is already the end of December! Let's see if I can catch you all up! It might get a little tedious but hang in there. It's sure to be a fun adventure! We'll start with August! Hold on to your seats! Here we go!!!!
(I started a post in September and then just published it today. It's posted a few down from this one. I didn't know it worked that way! How weird!)
