"This is my song!"

I am a huge country music fan and therefore that is all my kiddos listen to while making the long trip into town from our house. Usually the music is turned down fairly low so that I can carry on conversations with the kids a little easier. If the music is too loud, Kenidee hollers, "It's too loud! Turn it down!" Well, the other day, while driving into town I hear, "Mom, this is my song! Turn it up!" It was the cutest thing! I then hear, "Doo, oooooo, oooooo, ooooo, ooooooooo!" (singing) She was listening to Sugarland's "All I Want To Do!" I loved it! I've added it to my playlist if you want to listen to it! Some of you that know Kenidee well might even be able to picture her singing! The things our kids do!

In February I became an Uppercase Living Demonstrator and absolutely LOVE it! For those of you who don't know what Uppercase Living is, it is a wonderful home decor product. I have had so much fun in the last few months decorating our house and helping others to do the same!

Heath and I built our house and moved in a little over two years ago and I had been spending countless dollars on home decor magazines trying to find just the right look. In many of the magazines I found great pictures where it looked as if the owner paid someone to paint phrases and pictures on the walls. I can only imagine how expensive that could get! I was not going to pay someone to paint those phrases on my walls, but I knew I couldn't do it myself! What was I going to do? When I came across Uppercase Living my dilemma was solved!

1. What is something your mom/dad always says to you? "NO!" (Okay, so I really didn't think I told her no that much. I guess that's something I need to work on! LOL (-;)

2. What makes your mom/dad happy? "Not to be mean."

3. What makes mom/dad sad? "Mia dieing." (That was our first rottweiler. She happened to die on the same day as my Grandfather. I think that is about the only time Kenidee has seen me cry!)

6. How old is your mom/dad? "Mom is 13 and Dad is 10." (I wonder if she is thinking mentally?!? I have always thought I was older than Heath. LOL)

8. What is your mom/dad's favorite thing to do? "Mom's favorite thing to do is kiss and Dad's favorite thing is play."

9. What does your mom/dad do when you're not around? "Mommy and Daddy play by themselves." (I don't think she knows how right she is!)

11. What is your mom/dad really good at? "Mom is good to read books with me and Dad is good at holding me."

12. What is your mom/dad not so good at? "Mom is not so good at picking me up and Daddy is not good at doing my hair." (She is just getting too big for me to pick up like I used to and her dad really isn't very good at doing her hair! We have hats for his hair days! LOL)

13. What does mom/dad do for a job? "Mommy teaches kindergarten and Daddy builds a house."

14. What is your mom/dad's favorite food? "Mommy's favorite food is chocolate and Daddy's favorite food is ice cream." (She then added that her favorite food is chocolate ice cream! A girl after my own heart!)

"Mustard"

Not very often do I remember to write things down but this was just the cutest! Kenidee and I were visiting Daddy today at work. So often, when we do, we have to sit in the car because sometimes the job sites don't allow us to actually visit up close and personal. Today was no different. We get to have some of our better conversations during this treasured time together.

This week Heath has been frantically working on the Grace Lutheran Church and School remodel that has been underway this summer. Today there were several workers there and one in particular that Kenidee argued with me was Dad.

The conversation went something like this:

Kenidee: "There's Daddy on the roof!"
Me: "Where? I don't see him."
Kenidee: "UP THERE!"
Me: "Honey, that's not Dad."
Kenidee: "YES, IT IS!"
Me: " No, Baby, it's not."
Kenidee: (Starting to cry.)"IT IS TOO DADDY!"
Me: "Honey, it sort of looks like him, but there is Daddy over there. He's coming to see us."
(Man she is referring to gets up to leave the roof.)
Kenidee: (As if our earlier conversation had not happened)"Oh, he has a "mustard" like Dad. HEE, HEE, HEE"

I had to giggle! I knew what she was talking about. The man had a goatee and MUSTACHE like Heath!

4th of July

OK...So I'm a little late! The summer has been busy and I just haven't made the time to update you all on our lives. I apologize and hope you will all forgive me.

We returned home from our Lake Powell trip late on July 3rd and if I would have had my way, we probably would not have gone anywhere for the fireworks, but once again, having children changes your views on life. I couldn't put myself first and had to think of them instead of my longing to just take the night off! It was fun and I'm glad we spent the holiday with friends in American Falls on the reservoir.

We met Ralph and Cathleen just in time to head out on the boat! The kids had fun and because they had fun so did I. It was worth it!

Lake Powell

On June 27 we headed out on our first summer vacation for 2008, Lake Powell, UT/AZ!! It was a lot of fun! The kids and I had never been; however, it was not Heath's first trip. I can't believe he was holding out on us! The weather was great and the kids had a blast! We came home just in time for the Fourth of July!

We camped at Lone Rock. Can you guess why it's called Lone Rock? ;-)

We jumped off of a rock in the middle of the lake except Kenidee wouldn't jump! She wanted to be thrown in! Over and over I had to toss her into the lake! She loved it but I could't get her to just jump in!

On the other hand, it took a small push from a 4 year old and we couldn't keep Braden out of the water! He loved jumping off the "cliff." It was only about 5 feet off the surface of the water but he thought it was a long ways down! He still talks about "cliff jumping!"

As promised, here are a few pics of VBS. After 4 days of snacks, games, lessons, and crafts as well as puppet shows and skits I finally sifted through over 400 photos to find just 5 to post! If you know me, that is not an easy feat! I love to take pictures and I want to share all of them with you but I will spare you the agony! HEHEHE!!!

Vacation Bible School Success!!

WOW! What a hectic week! We just finished our annual Vacation Bible School and I am exhausted! It is always so much work! It was asked several times during the planning stages, "Is this worth it?" My answer? A resounding "YES!!!!" We were able to touch the lives of 38 children this year. The numbers were down this year, but still good for Southeast Idaho. The biggest joy for me is being able to see and hear the reaction to VBS from my 9 year old son. He spends the majority of his time in Nampa with his mother and unfortunately he does not attend church of any kind while there. He looks so forward every year to visiting us and going to VBS. What a treat and what a wonderful, fun opportunity to teach him the word of God! Thanks Pocatello Church of Christ for touching the lives of so many children! Do I want to do it again next year? YOU BET!!!! (I'll post pics a little later! I'm tired and I'm going to bed!)

Meet Roxy the Rottweiler!

Meet the newest edition to our family! May was a really tough month on the Fullmer/Proctor families. On Tuesday, May 6 I received a phone call from my mother indicating that my grandfather had passed away. It was a bitter/sweet time for our family. Pa was 84 years old and had lived a very long and prosperous life. God is in control of everything and decided to call Pa home. It was time. However, I woke up Wednesday morning only to find my dog Mia had also died! She was only 2! I didn't think it was her time and that was a little harder on our family and me in particular! Kenidee was my rock! Being so young and innocent, the easiest way for me to describe everything to her was to tell her that Pa needed Mia in Heaven. If you ask Kenidee, God called Pa home to give him a new body. In the 2 short years that Kenidee knew Pa, he didn't walk very well and hardly moved from his chair. Now he can run, jump and play and Mia is with him keeping him company! Kenidee's explanation of everything helped me to get through both losses! Out of the mouths of babes!

Well, all this leads up to our newest addition! Meet Roxy! The kids love her and believe it or not, Heath has actually let her in the house! Yes, in the house! Not on the carpets, mind you but in the house none the less. We'll see how long that lasts!

It's a good thing Braden really doesn't care to hold her!

This was the only place the kids could get away from Roxy. Just like any puppy, Roxy loves to chase and bite the kids! The louder they are the more she chases them!

The kids tried to climb the stairs to get away from her but she followed them. The problem? Roxy had a hard time getting back down the stairs! It was cute!

She seems so little! To bad she's going to grow up BIG!

NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!

Heath and I were in Phoenix last week. Unfortunately we did not go for fun! We went for work! I'm not going to mislead you in anyway, we did have fun too! The weather was up over the 100 degree mark almost everyday we were there! It was wonderful! While we were there we learned lots of great information when it comes to our line of work, so it was well worth the trip.

On Thursday I received a call from the Grace Lutheran School Director offering me the kindergarten teaching position starting in the fall! Imagine my surprise! I had applied for the position in March after returning from Mexico. My receiving the job was based solely on the decision of the other kindergarten teacher either moving to Nampa or staying in Pocatello. I thought she had decided to stay in Pocatello and so I had let myself believe that I was not going to go back to work next year! Boy was I wrong! Heath and I are both extremely excited about this new opportunity in our lives! (My family keeps telling me that now that I have made the decision to reenter the work force, after more than two long years of trying to conceive, God will finally give me that gift too! I'm not so sure I'm ready for it now!) When I look ahead to August, I realize that there are many things Heath, Kenidee and I are going to have to work out. Wow, what a life changing decision for all of us! I need to start preparing for all of this now!

While we were gone, Kenidee and Braden got to experience the best of city life and country life! They spent the first part of the week with Grandma and Grandpa Fullmer in Lehi. They played with the Salt Lake area cousins, helped Grandma in the garden and many other great things. I did notice that most of Grandma's flowers were still in tact after the visit from the grandchildren (I had to warn Grandma that Kenidee LOVES to pick flowers!)

By the time Friday rolled around it was time to head to the Bucking Bull Ranch in Downey! Grandma and Grandpa Proctor were ready! Colton got to spend the weekend there too! Poor Kenidee was out numbered. Two boys and one girl. Grandma ran lots of interference between the two boys and Kenidee. The first thing Kenidee told me was, "Mom! We had a bull emergency! The bulls got out and they were in the neighbors garden!" The kids thought that was great! Not only did the bulls get out once, but twice! It was definitely a memorable experience for Kenidee. She loves the country life of horses, bulls and lots of dogs! She has always been my little girl that loves dresses and "girly" things but give her the chance to get dirty and she will never say no!

Thank you so much Grandma and Grandpa Fullmer and Grandma and Grandpa Proctor for starting the summer off so great for our kids!
